Jonny is one of the highest qualified coaches in the county. Jonny believes in total football and has created an EMC blueprint that is followed throughout the Academy.
Jonny is manager of our U12, U14, U18 & U19 squads.
A former professional footballer with Bristol City and Fulham, Henry has an unbelievable playing CV and is widely known as one of the best players in the non-league game.
Henry has played at most levels of the pyramid having spells at Tonbridge Angels, Faversham Town, Ashford United, Snodland Town and presently at Crowborough Athletic.
Henry's focus shifted towards coaching at a young age, and has turned down various offers to go back into the higher levels of the game to put more energy into his academy.
Henry manages our U11, U14 and U15 Kent Youth League (KYL) squads.
A young product of the EMC model Jake came through our Scholarship Programme to work full time with us. Jake is both a tremendous footballer and brilliant coach, his technical knowledge and tactical ideas have helped him rise to become our youngest head coach.
Jake manages our U14 Saturday side and U11 Sunday side.
Former EMC Scholar Jamie (Macca) has cult hero status at our Academy. Jamie was a part of our 2018 U19 Kent Colleges League winning squad before joining the EMC staff full time. Jamie is manager of both our U8 and U10 squads, as well as assisting with the U11 and U19s.
Jamie 'Macca' McCloy has cult hero status at EMC. Having come through the ranks as a scholar with our 2018 U19 Kent Colleges League winning squad, Macca is now a full time coach at the academy.
Jame is manafer of our U10 side, who haven't lost in 3 seasons, and our U13 in the Kent Youth League.
Along with this, Macca is also manager of Tunbridge Wells lls and U23s sides away from EMC.
The legend that is Al Rodgers...
Al started his football playing for Rusthall Minors. From Rusthall he played his first senior game for Eastbourne, going on to stay there for 3 seasons, winning the Sussex Senior Cup and winning a promotion to the Athenian Premier League. From there, Al went on to join various clubs over the years including; Croydon FC, Carshalton, Bromley and Welling United. During his 5 years at Welling Al was part of the team that secured two promotions! After leaving Welling Al returned to Sussex and played for Crowborough and Bexhill. Having gained a wealth of footballing knowledge over the years Al then began his coaching career helping develop young players talents at the likes of Tonbridge Angels, Maidstone and Lordswood. Al currently coaches at Lydd Town.
Having worked with Crystal Palace FC for 5 years now, Chris has achieved 5 academy signings including one who has gone on to represent their country. Covering Kent, Sussex & Surrey Chris will be at a game most of every weekend!
'Browny' is a coach that knows what it's all about to be in the pro game as a youth. Spending most of his childhood at Gillingham, Browny carries knowledge of the pro game that the boys can learn off. His tactical insights translate into helping players positional development grow from strength to strength.
Some of his previous clubs when playing include, Sittingbourne, Gravesend, Tunbridge Wells and Worthing. Browny then had spells managing K Sports and Larkfield and is currently coach at step 3 side, Folkestone Invicta.
Steve Ives, more commonly known as Ivesy, is a man that needs no introduction when it comes to mastermind's in non-league management in the South East.
A coach that ensures his passion for the game is spread throughout all players, Ivesy strives on making each player better as individuals and as people.
Ivesy has managed the likes of Punnetts Town, Crowborough Athletic, Seaford, Eastbourne Town, Horsham and is now gaffer at Tunbridge Wells.
His ambitions to reach the play offs this year, is one of many reasons we are thrilled to have him onboard.
Callum Taylor, more commonly known to the EMC family as CT, comes into the academy as a role model for all aspiring footballers.
A leader on and off the pitch, CT recently captained Rusthall FC and has also played for the likes of Tonbridge Angels, Hythe Town and Herne Bay. CT is currently playing for Erith Town.
Dave joined our staff, initially running our centre at Sheppey United, but has since made the jump over to our Monday centre to share his wisdom with our players. Dave brings over his passion for succeeding, hoping to better our players in all aspects.
Before starting his coaching journey, Dave has a spell playing at Slade Green in the Old Ryman Premier League before moving on to join the coaching staff at Ashford United. Dave has also coached in the Rochester Prem, and with goalkeepers within the Chelsea Development set ups.
A parent and player favourite, Sid Sollis, formally renowned for being one of the most prolific forwards in the non league pyramid, comes to EMC as a coach hoping to share his footballing expertise to all players.
Some of Sid's former clubs include, Tonbridge Angels, Margate, Sittingbourne, Sevenoaks and East Grinstead.
Sid has also dabbled in the world of management having stints at Otford and Westerham.
Tommie is a player at the peak of his career who is currently playing his football out of Hastings United FC. As a centre midfielder, Tommie's technical ability is what he aims to mirror into his coaching sessions for players to learn from. His modern and confident approach to football is why he's become a player's favourite.
Some of his previous clubs include Harlow, Sittingbourne, Ashford and Tonbridge Angels. He was also on the cards at Gillingham as a youth player.
Zead is an up and coming coach who is loved by everyone. His charismatic personality is a hit with players and parents, and his knowledge of the game is going from strength to strength.
EMC player of the year for 2024 and double top goal scorer award winner, Zead's flair and technical ability ensures players understanding of abstract skills and passes can be added to their arsenal.
Zead, who is also a 3rd year Scholar, has been in and around numerous professional clubs and has played at high level for Uckfield and is now in his 2nd season perfecting his craft at Snodland.
Jack is someone that needs no introduction to people in and around EMC and the South East football scene. He is an up and coming coach who is assistant for our U10 team. As a coach, Jack brings his football intelligence and positivity into every session and game he does.
Jack went viral recently for scoring one of the quicket goals ever in English football, scoring direct from kick off in the FA Youth Cup where he went on to score a hattrick.
Jack has played no lower than step 5 making appearances for Uckfield and is now making waves at Rusthall FC where he's a regular starte aged just 17. Jack is also an integral part of our Scholars squad.
Jack's infectious character is replicated in his goalkeeper sessions and our younger players who work with him, leave learning a lot, and smiling!
Jack is a role model for all aspiring goalkeepers at EMC, being on trial at many professional clubs, including Cambridge United and Millwall FC.
Jack has spent the last few years in and around the tiers in non league playing for Rusthall FC, Uckfield, Larkfield and now playing his football out of Sutton Athletic along with being number one for our Scholars side.
Callum, is the true definition of what it takes to become an EMC legend.
Cal has been with us from the beginning to the present day and no matter what, always brings smiles to everyone's faces.
Assistant coach of the U12 side, Callum is a coach who looks to improve anyone he works with in the most enjoyable way possible.
He is also a 2nd year Scholar and part of our invincible double winning season.
Toby has risen through the ranks at EMC benig with us since the age of 8. What better prson to coach and manage our U8 side than a person that has been at EMC since the same age!
Toby is a coach with tremendous knowledge of the game at such a young age and is someone that will always give everything and more.
Toby is a 2nd year Scholar and wears the captain armband for his side. He has made several appearances at step 5 for AFC Uckfield Town.
Dan has been working in the video industry for the last 30 years, working in the music industry originally, but now within the corporate sector. Football is his life; from coaching to supporting, so it was inevitable that he would end up creating content within the world of football!

Sean is a professional footballer known for his versatility as a winger and his impactful career across various levels of football.
Crystal Palace (2007–2012):
Scannell came through the Crystal Palace academy and made his first-team debut in December 2007. In his home debut against Sheffield Wednesday, he scored a dramatic 90th-minute winner, marking the beginning of a memorable career. His consistent performances earned him the Championship Apprentice of the Year award in 2009.
Huddersfield Town (2012–2018):
Scannell was part of the squad that earned promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs in the 2016–17 season, contributing to the club’s historic success.
Loan to Burton Albion (2017–2018):
Scannell was loaned to Burton Albion in 2017, though his loan was cut short by injury in January 2018.
Bradford City (2018–2019):
Scannell signed with Bradford City in 2018, continuing to bring his creative presence to their attacking setup during his time at the club.
Blackpool (2019–2020):
Scannell’s leadership and adaptability was an asset to the squad until his release in 2020.
Grimsby Town (2020-2023)
Scannell contributed to their promotion via the National League play-offs in 2022. Despite injuries limiting his time on the pitch, his experience and leadership were invaluable to the team.
Hornchurch (2023–Present):
In 2023, Scannell signed with Hornchurch FC, playing a significant role in their promotion to the National League South as Isthmian League Premier Division champions.
International Career:
Scannell has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth levels, including U17, U18, U19, U21, and B teams. In 2007, he was honored with the Republic of Ireland Young Player of the Year award.
Mentoring Career:
Currently, Scannell is focused on mentoring young footballers; helping them unlock their maximum potential and develop an elite mentality. Using his extensive experience, he provides valuable guidance to the next generation of players, emphasizing resilience, discipline, and performance at the highest level.
