Scholars beat Hammers

Wednesday 27th April will be remembered as the day we picked up our first ever victory over West Ham United Foundation in the SCL League.

After various attempts we have always been turned over by the Hammers, who have produced some special talent, many of whom we've been lucky to compete against in the last couple of seasons. A 4-1 victory with goals coming from Omar Abbas (2), Nathan Kirkby and Connor Walker had Academy Manager Henry Muggeridge purring 'I am absoloutely delighted for this group of lads. The way they have grafted and stuck together throughout the season is a testament to their character, and if they continue to apply themselves as they have been this last few months they will go far. We went up to West Ham earlier this season, and to tell the truth we got battered. Today just shows how far we have come- I have been telling the lads for a while now that no team in this league trains as much as us, and I fully believe that. I know lads who are at professional clubs who don't put in the hours we do, so it's really pleasing to see it paying dividense.'

With 3 games to go in the SCL League our U19 squad are showing no signs of easing off, as they use this end of season training period to prepare themselves for pre season. Our current squad will have 10 players doing pre season at step 5 or above clubs come the summer.
