Thrilled to announce, that our ‘Coaches Vs Dads’ match will be held on Friday 21st April 2023.

The Charlie Slocombe Cup is the most anticipated charity match of the year!!

The coaches, managed by Pete Elwood, and ‘Dads’ managed by Lee Kneller of Cobra Projects, is in honour of our dear friend Charlie who passed away after collapsing during a 6-aside game. He was just 26 years old.

Over the years, Charlie played for us as well as coaching our youth players. A true legend and a part of the #EMCFAMILY who is sorely missed.

After the incredible support for our first ever Charlie Slocombe charity match, along with the 12 hour non stop match for our youth players, we were able to raise 4.5k!!! This was then matched by a local medical company who saw our appeal and as a result we were able to purchase 7 defibrillators for the academy, meaning one is present at every game, event or activity we attend to increase the safety of all our players, parents and staff.

This year, we are raising funds for the upkeep of our defibrillators as they require an ‘mot’ and new pads to ensure they are in fully working order and for heart screening for our players and staff aged 16-30 years old.

‘The Charlie Slocombe’ charity cup will be awarded to the winning team. Coaches won 6-3 last year, but who will claim the prize this year…

Everyone is welcome to come and support this wonderful cause. Donations on the gate for entry to training on the 21st plus a raffle on the night.
